XY Type Mechanical Face Seal Introduction

ZHONO XY Type Mechanical Face Seals are heavy-duty floating sealing systems. XY type mechanical face seal consist two asymmetric metal ring and two O rings. Unlike conventional symmetrical mechanical face seal designs, the X and Y seal halves have different profiles and work together as a matched sealing pair.

Also known as XY Type Floating Seals or XY Floating Oil Seals, this design is used in heavy-duty rotating equipment where the existing housing or OEM sealing system is designed around an X/Y seal geometry. The inverted seal ring design provides a considerable savings potential with respect to the cross section and the manufacturing technology.

An XY Type Mechanical Face Seal consists of:

◆ One X-profile metal sealing ring
◆ One Y-profile metal sealing ring
◆ Two elastomer O-rings

The X and Y metal components are asymmetric complementary sealing halves, rather than two identical metal rings.
